Welcome to Care of Paper, art conservation by Heather Hendry.  Care of Paper is located in Swarthmore, PA, outside of Philadelphia.  Bring your works of art and treasured papers for repair and preservation.

Items that will benefit from conservation include typically unstable materials such as newspaper clippings, 19th and early 20th century papers, outsider art and comic books; items that have suffered damage such as tears, cracking, or paint loss; and papers that are stored or mounted by damaging methods such as tape, acidic mounts, tightly rolled or under stress.

If you are concerned about the condition or appearance of a valued paper object, contact us for a free consultation.  Potential clients are invited to bring their art into the studio for a brief examination and discussion of conservation needs.  Request an appointment by email to heather@careofpaper.com or phone (610) 543-2826.

Heather has worked as an art conservator for over 10 years for prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, Yale University, the Canadian Conservation Institute, and the National Gallery of Canada.  She received a Master’s degree in paper conservation from Queen‘s University in Canada.  She is a member of the American Institute of Conservation and ICON (formerly the Institute of Paper Conservation).  All work adheres to the AIC Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice.  Heather has published papers on conservation techniques and research in professional journals, and taught workshops to other conservators and art professionals.
